Big things are coming for Kirkland FC in 2021!

The Western Washington Premier League (WWPL) announced on December 23rd a new league structure for the 2021 season. As a player or a fan, you should be excited about the changes. You can read the full article on the WWPL's website here.

  • Regular season games will begin the last weekend in March and run through September
  • 8 team First Division with bottom team relegated to Second Division at the end of the season
  • 14 regular season games
  • A post season knockout style tournament based on the results of the regular season
  • Participation in the WSASA Super Cup
  • Break in league games during the month of July
The WWPL and it's clubs see this move as a big step in creating a better, more competitive league that will cater to all adult players. It is easier on the players bodies with less schedule congestions (there will never be a weekend where a club plays two games). Further, there will be an increased number of games and training opportunities for players throughout the year.

As a fan, you won't have to choose between family vacations, holidays, or other fun Spring/Summer activities and supporting your Goats by attending a match. With each club playing no more than 3 league games a month, and with the month of July not having games, you and your family will get to have both.

It's a win win for everyone, so start getting excited!

Kirkland FC staff and the WWPL is actively working on getting a season up and running with the caveat of COVID-19. Make sure to subscribe to our newsletter below for information regarding 2021's home venue, kickoff dates, other events, and more!
